Born in Brooklyn (NY) and raised in Orange County (CA), Diane Abapo’s early fascination with cinema, art, and portraiture remains prevalent in her ongoing work. As an editorial assistant to former Flaunt Magazine President, Keith Jacobs, Diane’s exposure in the publication industry while still attending University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) led to her interning for celebrity photographer, Michael Muller. Her formative years at Flaunt and assisting the studio of Michael Muller proved to be essential as she then started her own independent bi-annual print publication known as SUSPEND Magazine in 2011. Today, Diane has worked with clients such as HYPEBEAST, RSVP Gallery, Fear of God, The Hundreds®, Nice Kicks®, Atlantic Records, Warner Bros. Records, and photographed numerous noted figures and musicians like Jerry Lorenzo of Fear of God, Hayley Kiyoko, Alexander Spit, Daye Jack, Ugo Mozie, Miss Lawn of HLZBLZ, Warm Brew, Left Brain, and more. She resides in Downtown Los Angeles where she continues to serve as the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of SUSPEND Magazine whilst expanding her photography endeavors. In her spare time, Diane enjoys jazz, hot showers, and filling up pages in her sketchbook with illustrations.
